Browse PPL's Huge RV Consignment Lot
If at all possible, you should start the process of buying a consigned RV thru PPL Motor Homes with a visit to one of our consignment centers in Texas. With locations in Houston, New Braunfels and Cleburne, we usually have about 650 to 800 consigned RVs for sale. Our no hassle sales philosophy means that you are free to browse the RVs for sale without being pressured by a salesman. However, if you have questions, a representative will be more than happy to assist you. By seeing firsthand the RV’s for sale, you will know which ones will meet your needs.
Utilize Our Out of Town Purchaser Program
If you are interested in a specific RV for sale, but cannot travel to Houston without having a firm commitment on the purchase of the vehicle, you can take advantage of our "Out of Town Purchaser" program. With a $500 earnest money deposit, it is possible to buy an RV at a specific price and hold it for a 5 day period. This gives you a chance to travel to Houston for final inspection and purchase, knowing that you have a firm contract to purchase the vehicle when you get here. Please call or click on this link for specifics and conditions of this "Out of Town Purchaser" program. If you are out of the Country and wish to purchase click here.
Trade-Ins are Easy Through PPL
PPL accepts motor homes, travel trailers and fifth wheels as trade-ins for any of the units available on our sales lot. Since individual owners normally will not accept a trade-in, PPL Motor Homes will purchase the Vehicle from the current owner and then be in a position to trade with the purchaser.
Sign an Earnest Money Agreement
When you find an RV you want to purchase, PPL recommends that you thoroughly inspect the vehicle. If it is a motor home, the inspection should include taking it on a test drive with one of our sales representative to make sure it handles satisfactorily. You will then need to sign an earnest money agreement and make a $500.00 earnest money deposit. The earnest money agreement will obligate you to purchase the RV within 5 days. Take advantage of PPL's "pre-delivery check out and demonstration." Purchase the RV knowing that although there is no warranty, certain components are working at the time of purchase.
PPL's Pre-Delivery Checkout and Demonstration
The Pre-Delivery Check Out and Demonstration Will Include the Following Equipment:
- Generator
- D/C Power Convertor
- Roof Air Conditioner (s)
- Refrigerator (Gas and Electric)
- Slide Out (s)
- Oven/Range
- Furnace
- Microwave
- Hot Water Heater (Gas and Electric)
- Toilet
- Fresh Water Pump and System
- Holding Tanks (Filled to 3/4 Full and then Checked for Leaks)
- Dump Valves
- Hydraulic/Electric Jacks
- Electric Step
- Windshield Wipers (Excluding Blades)
- All Batteries are "As-Is"
- Headlights, Blinkers, Brake and Marker Lights
- Awnings (Electric Only - Excludes Fabric)
- Back-Up Camera (Motor Homes Only)
The
above items, excluding the items noted to be sold "AS-IS", will be
demonstrated to you just prior to the "closing". This valuable check
out is for your protection so that you know exactly what you are buying, since
you are buying the unit from another individual. Once you have purchased it and
the vehicle leaves PPL's premises, it will be sold "AS-IS"
with no warranty just as if you were dealing directly with the owner.
If any of the items listed above do not work properly during the demonstration and the owner chooses not to repair the items, you may cancel the purchase. If the owner will not repair the item your $500.00 earnest money would be returned and the demonstration fee waived.
When looking over the vehicle you are about to purchase, keep in mind that this is not a brand new vehicle and the owner will not repair all imperfections. The price of the vehicle reflects the overall condition of the vehicle.
Buy an Extended Service Agreement if the RV Qualifies
PPL offers an extended warranty program for vehicles which qualify. Protect yourself from unexpected expenses while you enjoy the RV lifestyle.
Financing
PPL's experienced Business Managers understand that financing a used RV is not the same as financing a car or truck. The lenders we work with are familiar with the RV industry and rely on PPL to properly inform them of the value of the vehicle. We will work with the buyers to help them secure favorable financing.
Schedule the Final Closing
After completing an Earnest Money Agreement, you will meet with one of PPL's Business Managers to make the final arrangements for purchasing the vehicle. The advantages of financing versus cash purchase will be reviewed with you to help you make an informed decision as to which payment method you choose. A "closing" appointment will be set allowing PPL time to check out the above items. The final RV demonstration and closing must be within 5 working days from the effective date of the earnest money agreement unless the checkout reveals items that need to be repaired and the repairs cannot be completed within the 5 days.
Other fees that are included at this time are a state sales tax of 6.25% if you are a Texas resident registering the vehicle in the state of Texas. The title/registration fee varies but typically no more than $40.00 and the license fee depends on the weight of the unit and if the license plates are current or not. There is also a documentary fee and Texas charges a small inventory tax based on the value of the vehicle.
